Want some nightlife whilst sailing in Thailand?

show11bAs you will know if you love sailing in Thailand, that there are many festivals and celebrations that take place throughout the year in Thailand – last week we looked at the Phuket bike festival and how if you were sailing in Thailand you could still experience the party atmosphere of this festival! Well this week it was the turn of the Phuket Gay Pride festival to take centre stage and it certainly did!

The Phuket Gay Pride festival was first held in 1999, and is an ostentatiously outrageous festival full of fun and eccentricity. Whether you are gay, straight or otherwise, and whatever age you are – watching this vibrant colourful carnival really is a celebration not to be missed! During the six day event which was held from April 19th to the 26th, there are many street parties, competitions and ceremonies to enjoy, with a final glitzy parade on the final night.

Whether you are sailing in Thailand or coming from afar just for the festivities, the festival attracts partygoers from all over the world, and takes over Patong beach for the duration of the celebrations.

However, if you missed the celebrations, but like to party, Phuket is a great place to come not only for the spectacular sailing in Thailand, but the great nightlife too!

Phuket has a reputation as a bit of a partying hotspot, with many international visitors visiting the go-go bars, ladyboy cabaret shows, discos and clubs and live bands and international DJ’s, no wonder Thailand’s party scene is so famous. Here are 3 of the most popular nightlife destinations.

Bangla Road

This area of Patong really comes to life once the sun has set – the road becomes closed and there is pedestrian access only, you can enjoy the bright neon lights, loud music and the cheap drinks on offer. It is very busy, yet still unthreatening and is a lively place to be as most of the beer bars are outdoors so it can be very noisy! There are also many street performances to enjoy.

Seduction Nightclub

On Patong beach, the Seduction Nightclub is the largest disco. It is enormous and can host up to 3000 people across the different venues. It is very modern and a great place for young visitors who want to party and dance all night long. It is a very trendy place to visit with up to date music and international visiting DJ’s and is all very well managed and run, ensuring that is a good place for a safe and fun night out. They have good spacious dance floors, top of the range sound equipment, and even chill-out areas if you need a break from the dancing! Seduction Nightclub is literally in the heart of Patong’s nightlife area and all the staff from the bartenders to the security offer an efficient and well run service.

Phuket FantaSea

The island’s biggest and most popular show would have to be Phuket FantaSea! This features a host of trapeze artists, hundreds of dancers and performers, performing elephants and other animals, all following an exotic storyline that brilliantly blends tradition and fantasy providing you with a fabulous evening of entertainment.

Not only do you get to see an amazing show, but there is also an amazing buffet, said to be one of the largest in Asia, set in a theme park style with carnival games and shopping opportunities. Phuket FantaSea sells itself as “The Ultimate Cultural Theme park” and that pretty much is what it delivers, the evening really is a sight for all of you senses and the evening peaks with a magnificent stage show. It is run very well and you are well fed, well entertained, very efficiently and impressively. Definitely worth a visit during your holiday, for the overload to the senses it provides!

So as you can see it is not all about the sailing in Thailand, there are is so much to do and see in Phuket alone, then when you have had your fill, take to the water and enjoy some kick back time on your boat enjoying the fabulous scenery and atmosphere that a holiday sailing in Thailand can provide.
