Saturday: Clear Water Bay & Po Toi

The Sai Kung area is known as ‘Hong Kong’s back garden’ thanks to its abundance of lush hiking trails and stunning beaches. Clear Water Bay is the most renowned of these beaches, having earned its name thanks to its turquoise clear water, and boasts incredible surrounding mountain scenery and plenty of amenities including a popular golf course. Ideal for visiting by water, your yacht will pick a quiet spot and moor up for you to enjoy the best the Bay has to offer.

Before your return, visit the rocky island of Po Toi (meaning ‘sack,’ name due to the its narrow channel from the bay to the sea), which is home to many traditional local fish farms and fleets of sampans (small local fishing boats). Still home to a number of traditional fisherman’s huts, this is a fascinating peek at a more traditional way of life. The island is also home to the Tin Hau temple, historic carvings, impressive rock formations and much more.
