Get inspired with a look at some of the best unspoiled islands and cruising grounds between Langakawi and Phuket.

ABOUT LANGKAWI

Langkawi is widely regarded  as Southeast Asia’s most desirable landscape and is a truly special escape for a yacht charter. Langkawi’s clear turquoise waters and long sandy beaches constitute a paradise resort with lush forests and spectacular caves that form part of this charismatic island. In addition to the beautiful natural scenery, Langkawi has a rich history and traditional culture – Langkawi’s 99 tropical islands have their own character and many have their own fairy tales of a variety of demons, giant eagle, warrior princess and other folk tales and mythological legends.

Langkawi is especially known for its beautiful islands, many of which are completely deserted and unspoilt. Here are some of our top picks to explore by yacht.

Koh Adang and Koh Lipe

Koh Adang has a reputation for stunning waters. As this island is uninhabited and far from the mainland, a yacht is the perfect way to arrive. Low visitor numbers mean that beaches are clean and the waters have been well preserved.

Cruise on to Koh Lipe, which was used as the filming location for the popular film Mechanic 2. Located on the southeast side of Kph Adang, Koh Lipe is closer to Malaysia. Known as the ‘Maldives of Thailand’ this islands offers soft white sand beaches and rich colourful marine life making this an ideal spot for snorkeling.

Koh Mak

Koh Mak is a large island between Koh Chang and Koh Kood, with a stunning coastline of about 27 kilometers long. Koh Mak is well known for biking tours, watching fireflies, hiking, canoeing and other land-based activities. Koh Mak has transparent turquoise water, and is surrounded by beaches on three sides of the island. Enjoy cruising round Koh Mak, relaxing in the sunshine or cruising with dolphins and whales. This is a real paradise for free divers who will not want to miss the chance of s swimming amongst a group of dolphins.

Koh Lanta

Koh Lanta is a 25-kilometre long island along the coast of Thailand’s Andaman, south of Phuket and Krabi. Koh Lanta is famous for its long beaches, quiet fortresses and the beauty above and below the water. It is a paradise for beach lovers and scuba divers.

Koh Lanta is an archipelago that includes two of the largest islands, Koh Lanta Noi and Koh Lanta Yai. Koh Lanta Yai has most of the beautiful beaches and is the location with the most tourist attractions; however, it is still peaceful when compared to the lively Phi Phi and Phuket.
